Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! I love the holiday season and its so wonderful starting our own traditions in our little family. As you all know, fall here is hardly fall at all, but rather a less hot version of summer. Miraculously though, we had a few "cool" days that felt very seasonal! What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with baking!
I got this idea from Pinterest.

Kayla loves helping out with baking!
For the Thanksgiving holiday, we invited some good friends from our ward over to eat with us. We also invited our missionaries. We had a few more guests than we originally planned on, but luckily, we had just enough turkey! It probably helped that the missionaries were full from their other dinners. :)

We were glad we had friends to come eat with us because making a whole meal for just our little family would result in eating turkey for weeks afterward! We brined our turkey and cooked it upside down again this year. It was DELICIOUS! So moist and yummy. I made RaeJean's famous rolls, sweet potatoe casserole and a few pies. Our friend Chayla brought mashed potatoes, stuffing, apple pie, and cooked veggies. We really had such a delicious dinner! We chatted for a couple hours after dinner before digging into the pies. It was a wonderful fun-filled day with yummy food and good friends.
Brett took his nap before we even started eating! I found Kayla playing
on his legs and he was out like a light! He works hard.

She was so excited for the rolls!

"I'm SO thankful for Thanksgiving" she said.

We had the Rangels with their daughter Emily join us.

Also the Jenkins with their kids Chayla and Clayton along with the Elders.

Turkey coma was setting in......and it was nap time.

All the kids had fun while the adults were chatting after dinner

Our 1st Thanksgiving as a family of 3!
