Tyson 18 Months

Our little buddy hit the 18 month mark a couple days ago. Time is going so fast! I always get excited to think about Tyson growing up and discovering new things, but I treasure the little moments now with this guy of ours. He is really such a sweet boy that is always making me laugh. I'm so glad he is ours!

Tyson is talking more and more. He knows a lot of words and just recently has started babbling in sentences. Most of them are just jibberish, but its fun to hear him speaking more. Kayla said the other day, "Tyson's starting to talk just like me!" Not quite, but he'll get there soon!

He's a momma's boy. He sure loves being with mommy! I can always get him down the easiest at night and he loves snuggling with mommy! We always sing songs at bedtime and his favorite is Popcorn Popping. He asks for it over and over. He also loves Book of Mormon stories, the birdy song, Tarzan, and the Tyson song I wrote for him. He also loves dancing. We will play the Polar Express song and Kayla and Tyson will run around the island over and over. He's got some pretty good moves!

He loves books and calls them 'bookahs'. His favorite book is Wheels on the Bus. He loves books about fish and has been more interested in cars and trucks in books lately. He loves playing in the bathtub with Kayla and especially loves when we put bubbles in the tub.

He LOVES to brush his teeth! He'll climb up and cry 'teeth!' over and over. He's even used a stool to climb from the toilet to the sink to get his toothbrush himself. I swear the kids going to fall and break a bone any day now. He's got 12 teeth now.

Eating is still one of his favorite past times! He will often lick his plate clean! He will eat almost anything, but just the past few days, he's gotten a little more picky. I wonder if he's finally getting to that phase of toddler picky eating. Some of his favorite foods are PB&J sandwiches, apples, waffles, pancakes, crackers, strawberries, and bananas.

I almost can't remember life before Tyson. He fits into our family perfectly! He's a pretty daring kid. He loves climbing on the couch and jumping off. He loves rough housing too!

We've had a lot of fun outside since we moved to Idaho! We did a lot of sledding and playing in the snow and Tyson loves being outside.

Tyson's vocabulary includes a lot lately! He can identify most of his body parts when asked. He can say most of the food that we eat and asks for what he wants now. He calls milk 'milka'. He calls Kayla 'Ka'. He knows everyone in the family by name. He calls water 'wawa'. He calls his binky 'binty'. He loves other babies and will yell out baby anytime he sees another baby. He knows several animal names. He calls shoes 'go gos'. He loves hearing choo choos and calls airplanes 'bayplanes'. He's recently started saying 'scary' a lot! If he hears a loud noises, he cries out scary! He hates hot food and will say its hot and then blow on it. He's really good at saying please and thank you, sometimes better than Kayla.

He loves his daddy too! When daddy comes home, Tyson runs to the door with so much excitement. He loves how daddy will throw him up in the air. He loves going upstairs when daddy gets home to change his clothes before dinner.

Tyson is such a daring kid. He hardly cries when he gets hurt or falls down but seems to love the adventure. He fell into the playhouse like this the other day and just happily played like that for a few minutes before flipping the rest of the way over and continuing to play!

He loves the playground and will go down the slides over and over again, no matter how how tall they are. He has no fear when it comes to the playground, which fills me with fear!

Kayla and Tyson love racing down these slides at the Nature park.

Tyson recently has started refusing to eat in his high chair the majority of the time. He is so happy to sit at the table in the booster seat next to Kayla!

I can't get over the cheeks on this kid! He's had nice chubby cheeks since day one and they're just as round as ever. They're perfect for kissing!

He's such a sweet boy. He's been sick the past week and I took him in to find out he has an ear infection and pink eye. But he's been super cuddly and sweet in the meanwhile.

He loves Kayla, most of the time. She has been pretty rough with him, but now he's starting to fight back, and she's not liking that. Today, he tackled her on the ground and she couldn't get up. I just had to laugh.

He makes the cutest faces!

He has been down to one nap for about five months and sleeps about 12 hours a night. His naps range from 2-3 hours a day. He was having a hard time at night while he was cutting his molars and it was tiring for everyone. Since those broke through though, he's slept like a champ!

He loves helping me clean. We got Kayla a little cleaning set for Easter, and Tyson uses it a lot more than she does. He loves using my Norwex cloths too and I'm happy to let him clean whatever he wants. He's still pretty scared of the vacuum though.

We've spent a lot of time in the sunshine this week and we all love it!

We were out doing cartwheels and rolling down the hill the other day and playing in the grass, and Tyson couldn't stop laughing. It was wonderful and everything I've been missing while we lived in Texas.

They were looking up at dad in awe as he showed off his tricks!

Tyson and Kayla had their first popsicles the other day and they loved them, until they started breaking and getting everywhere. :)

Here's our pink eye boy loving on his oatmeal and yogurt this morning! He had it all over him and he was licking it off his shirt! It was so funny!

We went to Bear World this weekend and Tyson was in heaven! Here's a few of my favorite shots of this guy. He's such a handsome boy but often has a serious look on his face.

He got to ride up front as we drove through the park going 3 MPH and thought he was pretty hot stuff.

We sure love our Buddy buddy! We are so happy he is ours and I can't wait to see him grow into a little boy. He's a great kid and we're blessed to have him in our eternal family!
