A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to spend some time with my dad, sister, and her family. They came up for the day and we went off in search of waterfalls! TLC said you shouldn't do that, but it made for a pretty great day for all of us, haha!
We first drove to Cave Falls. Its just inside a little corner of Yellowstone National Park and it doesn't disappoint. There's a gorgeous view up above the falls to see everything and then a quick walk down to them lets you play right in the river. It was a lot of fun!
This guy is my favorite person to go on adventures with!
Tyson kept trying to run right out into the river! Next time, we'll definitely take water shoes for him.
It was fun spending time with Haley, Jon, and Jaxon.
Tyson loves giving kisses and he loves Aunt Wayway, as he calls her.
The kids had a lot of fun with Grandpa Kelly throwing rocks in the river for quite awhile!
We explored some of the trails around the area. Tyson's ability to hike and climb at such a young age is impressive, to say the least. He even showed Uncle Jon how to do it!
We had a picnic lunch at Cave Falls and were joined by a plethora of mosquitos! There were so many!!
Then we hopped in the car for the kids to take as we drove to Mesa Falls. The boys fell asleep in the exact same position! Jaxon makes Tyson look like a giant!
Mesa Falls is one of my favorite places on earth, literally! Five years ago, Brett took me there one afternoon and asked me to marry him with a Macadamia Hershey Kiss and a ring on top. It was perfect! We took a picture on the same bench that he proposed to me on. This time, it was crazy busy, but luckily when we got engaged, there was hardly anyone around. It was the perfect proposal!
Our family has grown a little bit since the last time we were here!
It was fun to take the kids there and tell them the story of how mommy and daddy decided to get married.
Mesa Falls is also really cool because it looks tropical almost. The sides of the canyon surrounding it are covered with lush green vegetation from all the mist of the giant water fall and its such a beautiful place!
There's nothing better than being up in the mountains and smelling the fresh mountain air, except maybe for sharing it with family!
Dad and his girls!
The view of the canyon that the water fall flows into.
We got back to Rexburg and Haley, Jon, and Grandpa took the opportunity to go to the Temple so we got to hang out with Jaxon. Kayla was in heaven. She loves that baby like crazy!
I decided to try and get some photos of the three grandkids together but that proved to be difficult.
Haha! Maybe someday we'll get a good photo of the three of them! :)
I love adventure filled days spent with family. This was definitely a good day!
